about
Super Mario 64 holds a special place in my heart, especially the game's soundtrack. Where Dire Dire Docks and the Main Theme have become fan favorites in their own right, IMO the less popular Staff Roll song is very unique and is one of the most beautiful songs in the game.
It sounds instinctively Japanese. It's an uplifting tune with drops of bitter-sweet melancholy. When you listen to it, memorable moments of the game instantly comes rushing back to you, and you're left with a feeling of nostalgia. It's delicate...but potent.
I gave the song a synth-pop overhaul, while still delivering on those feelings you'd get when you listen to the original version. Hope you enjoy it, I had a blast making it.
